A sluggish growth in demand for office spaces in the city through the last few years paints a grim picture for the state of business affairs in Bengal. The tepid demand has also stubbed significant launches in the market.
According to a study , 42.4% office space of the Grade A category is lying vacant in Kolkata with an inventory pileup of 21.4 million sq ft.Spaces in business hubs like EM Bypass, Ballygunge Park Road, Loudon Street and Sector V are available at a negotiable rental but there are little or no takers, the study said.
